Digital Content Manager, Navigator Research

 

Reports to: Director of Strategic Communications, Navigator Research

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Status: Full-time; Exempt. This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit; specific employment terms and conditions are subject to labor-management negotiations and a potential Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Compensation: $63,500 - $71,000

About The Hub

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts with extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, polling, and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy. We make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

 

Position Summary

The Manager, Digital Content will work to execute compelling and effective digital programs for Navigator Research, a campaign incubated within The Hub Project. Navigator conducts a significant volume of quantitative and qualitative research designed to act as a consistent, flexible, responsive tool to inform policy debates for audiences, including progressive advocates, elected leaders, and the press. This person will help manage and support digital activities, including crafting and deploying social media content, strategizing and executing email campaigns, managing and updating our website, and working to expand the distribution and footprint of Navigator's social media platforms.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Manage day-to-day social media programs on Twitter, Instagram, and additional future social media accounts, including writing content and obtaining approval.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop compelling visual assets, deploy content on social media accounts, and develop toolkits for sharing and amplification.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic digital plans for Navigator, including brainstorming organic and paid digital tactics and creative concepts.
  • Work with the full Navigator team to develop and execute successful digital campaigns across multiple platforms including quickly mobilizing around rapid-response moments.
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Communications to develop and execute longer-term strategies to expand Navigator’s audience and reach. Establish and own relationships with digital content contemporaries at partner organizations in order to expand Navigator's distribution.
  • Craft digital analytics reports for our campaigns and use that data to make recommendations on adjusting our strategy.
  • Manage external vendors and/or consultants to support digital campaigns.
  • Experience working with influencers and managing creator campaigns. 
  • Update websites and landing pages using content management tools like WordPress, SquareSpace, and/or Wix.
  • Keep a pulse on the latest digital trends and best practices, and find new ways to integrate them into our campaigns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

  • You have 3+ years of experience managing a social media program from taking content from ideation to execution.
  • You have some experience with progressive email, including drafting content, executing content, and collaborating on strategy.
  • You have experience with content management platforms like WordPress, SquareSpace, and/or Wix.
  • You know how to analyze social media performance and how to make adjustments based on key metrics.
  • You're an excellent writer who loves experimenting with tone, voice, and personality.
  • You're an active participant who is willing to share your point of view during brainstorming sessions to help guide overall digital strategy.
  • You're passionate about following the latest digital trends about where people get their information online.
  • You're flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • You're comfortable working on tight deadlines, and have experience working in rapid-response or fast-paced environments.

Benefits

Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
