Location: Washington, D.C. (3 days in office & 2 days remote each week)

Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Compensation: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week
Benefit: Health leave at a rate of 3.33 hours per pay period

About The Hub
Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts with extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, polling, and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy. We make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.
Position Summary
The Hub Project is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented intern to support our efforts to engage content creators and social media consumers across a variety of education and advocacy issues. As an intern on the Strategy & Innovation team, you’ll play a key role in helping to plan and execute innovative virtual and in-person events, managing databases, creating social graphics and copy for various social platforms. We’re looking for someone who understands the evolving digital landscape, gets excited about the latest trends in social and video, and is eager to explore new ways creators can influence public conversations and advance social causes. This is a paid position.
As a Strategy & Innovation Intern, you'll:
- Support the team in planning and executing successful virtual and in-person events.
- Track content and monitor key conversations relevant to our advocacy work.
- Brainstorm innovative ideas to bring new creators into the issue education and advocacy space.
- Assist in drafting social media content and design graphics.
- Quickly mobilize around rapid-response moments to create social content.
- Assist with day-to-day tasks, including scheduling, email correspondence, updating creator database, and internal documentation.
About you:
- You’re passionate about the intersection of content creation, culture, and social impact.
- You have an interest in design and experimenting with style, tone, color, and fonts
- You stay up-to-date on digital trends, emerging platforms, and conversations being shaped online.
- You understand the content creator landscape and follow advocacy creators across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
- You’re a creative thinker with a keen eye for storytelling and an interest in how content can drive social change.
- You’re excited about how creators can shape public discourse and advance social causes.
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and analytical even in a fast-paced work environment
- You have some experience drafting social media content, graphic design and video editing
- You have a demonstrated interest in progressive causes
- You are proactive with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
