About The Hub

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts with extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, polling, and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy. We make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Hub Project is looking for an experienced Director of Campaign Organizing to oversee the work conducted in states across the country focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and advocating for policies that serve working people, not the ultra-wealthy and corporations. Our campaigns leverage a mix of community organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its partners. The Director of Campaign Organizing will lead a department of passionate and talented staff that coordinates with numerous staff across the organization, including research and policy, communications, digital, and support staff to create dynamic and effective issue education and advocacy campaigns. You will manage Associate Directors of Campaigns who are the direct liaisons with partners in states across the country; build strategic campaign plans that work in conjunction with the narrative arcs we are driving in each state; and ensure best practices are synchronized across campaign teams. This role may also be responsible for running small teams or short-term projects as necessary.

As Director of Campaign Organizing, you will:

  • Manage a team of staff who work with in-state partners  to ensure we meet our program goals by strategically leveraging organizing, press outreach and earned media, paid media, and more.
  • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive issue advocacy campaign plans that tap into an array of resources.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to inform program strategy and advance campaign goals.
  • Nurture collaborations and partnerships with allies at the national, state, and district levels to accomplish the goals of the program.
  • Oversee and help identify rapid-response efforts as opportunities arise.
  • Design and oversee consistent reporting on program progress and successes.

About you:

  • You have 7+ years of experience designing and managing large-scale issue and/or electoral campaigns.
  • You are committed to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to all Americans.
  • You have experience with large-scale campaigns and a willingness to try new and innovative tactics alongside traditional approaches.
  • You are an excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • You have a talent for working with partner organizations and forming meaningful organizational partnerships.
  • You are an experienced, enthusiastic people manager and a talented leader.
  • You are committed to developing strategic plans that work--and orienting numerous people and tactics around achieving goals.
  • You have successfully managed numerous outside vendors/consultants.
